Keki Adhikari in an attractive costume in Biteka Pal premier

Actress Keki Adhikari appeared in a different and attractive costume in the premier of her upcoming movie ‘Biteka Pal’. It was not only the costume, Keki’s acting in the movie was also appreciated by the viewers. The typical dhaka costume was designed by the noted costume designer of Nepali film industry, Nilima Sharma.

The movie scheduled to release on January 10 features Keki with Baboo Bogati and Abhinash Gurung. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ was appreciated by most of the viewers of the premier.

Shot mostly in Darjeeling, the movie is jointly produced by Rajesh Ghatani and Krish Rijal. During the premier, Rajesh Ghatani promised to donate all the revenues collected on the first day at Indra Dev theater in Narayangadh, Chitwan to the family of late director Shiva Regmi. The movie directed by Shiva Regmi, ‘Parai’ is also going to release with ‘Biteka Pal’.

Other actresses like Reema Bishowkarma, Richa Sharma, Malina Joshi, Sanchita Luitel, Sarita Lamichane etc. were also present in the premier show.

Jiya KC claims of not doing vulgar movies

In a program, Nepali actress Jiya KC has claimed that if anybody thinks she has done vulgar films, they are wrong. In her debut movie, ‘Ho Yehi Maya Ho’, she was featured in a decent role. But, after that she has done movies highly criticized for being vulgar.

Jiya’s movie ‘ATM’ faced a tough time since the release of it’s trailer. The censor board rejected the majority of the movie and it had to be reshot. On release, the movie was banned from theater and later re-released when the court allowed it to release in theaters. After that, she had done other controversial movies like ‘Barbad’ and ‘Ring Road’.

Most of Jiya’s movies were awarded ‘A’ certificates – suitable for the viewers older than 16-years-old. Jiya has claimed that she was wearing the dresses of current generation. But, she didn’t talk about the explicit dialogues in the movies.

November Rain actress Chhulthim Gurung and Dhiraj Rai divorced

The popular singer Dhiraj Rai has admitted that he and his wife – model / actress Chhulthim Gurung have separated. According Himalkhabar, Dhiraj Rai admitted that the couple have realized that they aren’t made for each other.

Chhulthim had been a fan of Dhiraj Rai. They met and ultimately got married. Now, Dhiraj has admitted – "It’s true we are separated. Our relationship hadn’t been good for the last three years." Apart from being a popular singer, Dhiraj is also an architect.

Chhulthim is debuting as an actress in her upcoming movie ‘November Rain’. The movie is a debut movie of actor Aryan Sigdel as a producer. The movie also features actress Namrata Shrestha in leading role.

Biteka Pal premier show held in Kathmandu, Keki appreciated for her role

The premier show of upcoming movie ‘Biteka Pal’ was held in Kathmandu on December 29, 2013. After the show, most of the viewers have appreciated the movie. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ features Keki Adhikari, Baboo Bogati, and Abinash Gurung in lead roles.

 

In the premier show held in City Center, Darjeeling resident actor Abinash was also present. He had travelled from Darjeeling to Kathmandu for the premier show. Other noted personalities in the show include Hari Bansha Acharya and his wife, Maoist leader Barshaman Pun, Yuvaraj Lama, producer Rajkumar Rai, director Bikash Acharya, Suresh Darpan Pokharel and others. With Keki other actrors like Benisha Hamal, Reema Bishowkarma, Gajit Bista, Niraj Baral, Subash Thapa, Sarita Lamichane, Samyam Puri, Malina Joshi, Wilson Bikram Rai, Sanchita Luitel and others were also present at the Big Cinemas.

The producer of another movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha’, which is releasing with ‘Biteka Pal’, Nirmal Sharma and Deepak Raj Giri were also present in the premier.

After the show, most of the viewers had appreciated the acting of actress Keki Adhikari and the effort of the director Suraj Subba.

Bhuwan KC became the victim of politics, for the second time

Despite of his desperate attempt, actor Bhuwan KC has failed to get a Constituent Assembly (CA) membership. In the final list of CPN (UML) candidates nominated as CA members under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system, Bhuwan’s name is missing.

 

A standing committee meeting, held at Gokarna Resort, has chosen the 84 PR members from the list of 335 names submitted to the Election Commission before the election. The party has become the second largest party after winning 91 seats under direct voting.

Bhuwan was selected to represent the party in Kathmandu Constituency no.1 but, was forced to withdraw in the last hours. Bidhya Neupane had replaced him in the election. At that time, he was assured the seat in PR. After the final list was made public, Bhuwan has become the victim, the second time.

Rekha Thapa has become mother of four Raute children (Video Report)

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa had organized a inauguration ceremony to formally announce the social work she had started recently by establishing the Rekha Thapa Foundation. In the event she told, “I have felt like a mother. Now I have realized that you don’t need to be in blood relationship to become a mother.”

 

In the formal event, Rekha also released a half-hour-long video showing the details of her visit to the Far Western Nepal to meet Raute community people. The website of the organization, rekhathapafoundation.org, was also launched during the event.

Rekha had adopted four Raute children and brought them with her when she returned back from the Far Western Nepal. Three girls and a boy are now living in the hostel of Anandakuti school in Swoyambhu.

Rekha Thapa first announced about the Foundation concept while she was in Hong Kong to premier her movie ‘Kali‘.

Chha Ekan Chha team distribute jackets to street children (Video)

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ movie team are currently promoting the movie by doing different promotional activities. Recently the team was seen distributing jackets to street children. Considering the hardship of the street children during the cold days, the movie team distributed jackets with the films’ name written on them.

 

The artists present during the distribution of jackets include Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Sitaram Kattel (Dhrumus), Nirmal Sharma (Gaida) and Kabita Sharma.

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ is going to release in theater on January 10, 2013. The movie features six comedians in main roles. The movie directed by Dinesh DC features most of the comedy actors of television in different roles.

Rajesh Hamal to get married in February-March

In a program held in Kathmandu, Hamal told about his plan to get married in Falgun (February – March). In his previous plan they was planning to get married a month earlier in Magh, but, because of some problem the marriage is delayed by a month.

Rajesh Hamal was at a program to unveil singer and musician Meghraj Magarati’s musical album ‘Anamol Shristi’. On the questions by journalists Hamal said, “You can be assured, I will get married in Falgun.” He also added that the marriage will be a simple ceremony without much noises. About the exact date, he told about a journalist meet at the start of February.

It has been quite some time since the actor Rajesh Hamal had revealed the existence of a girl friend. The actor had been successful in keeping his girlfriend secret for more than a year. When a rumor that the affair being fake started going around, the girlfriend agreed to talk to a ‘Saptahik’ journalist.  It was later revealed that the girlfriend was Madhu Bhattarai. About six months before the real identity of the girlfriend was revealed, we had received unconfirmed information about the name being Madhu.

Hamal had planned to get married in 2010 but, on the suggestion of an astrologer it was postponed till 2013. It is not known why the 50-years-old actor couldn’t marry in 2013 and he is waiting till the Valentine Day of 2014.

Some income of Parai to be donated to Shiva Regmi family

The producer of ‘Parai’, Govinda Shahi, has told that a portion of the income made by the movie will go to the director’s family. ‘Parai’ director Shiva Regmi had died earlier this month after kidney failure.

The producer told, "15 percent of the collection made by the movie in theater all over Nepal on the release day, Friday will be donated to Shiva Regmi family and Shiva Regmi Trust." Half of the amount goes to Shiva’s family and the remaining half to the Trust. The movie is going to release in theaters on December 27.

‘Parai’ is a movie made on a social story and features actors Govinda Shahi, Nandita KC, Garima Pant, and Niraj Baral in lead roles.

NFDC award, second 4-monthly nomination released

Nepal Film Development Company (NFDC) started the National Film Award last year and it has started nominating the best artists every 4 months. The final nomination will be compiled from these nominations. The current nomination is based on the movies released in the last four months (Bhadra 1 to Mangsir end) in theaters.

In the last four months 29 movies were released. The top five movies nominated for the award are:

• Hostel
• Dhuwani
• Madhumash
• Kali
• Maun

In Best actor category the nominations are:

• Aryan Sigdel from ‘Madhumash’
• Arpan Thapa from ‘Maun’
• Dayahang Rai from ‘Loafer’
• Kishor Khatiwada from ‘Dhuwni’
• Suman Singh from ‘Gambler’

In the best actress category, the nominations are:

• Jharana Thapa from ‘Kohi Ta Chha’
• Namrata Shrestha from ‘Maun’
• Neeta Dhungana from ‘Urbashi’
• Rekha Thapa from ‘Kali’
• Sumina Ghimire from ‘Star’

In the similar manner, the nominated supporting actors include Gaurav Pahadi (Hostel), Manoj RC (Madhumash), Ramesh Budhathoki (Rajneeti), Sagar Lamsal (Sourya).

In supporting actresses, three nominations are – Arunima Lamsal (Urbashi), Pabitra Acharya (Rajneeti), Shivangini Rana (Madhumash).

In new actors category four actors are nominated. The nominated actors include Anmol KC from ‘Hostel’, Anup Bikram Shahi from ‘Sourya’, Kishor Shrestha from ‘Urbashi’ and Salon Basnet from ‘Hostel’.

In new actress category – Anju Niraula (Hamri Cheli), Komal Oli (Rajneeti), Prakriti Shrestha (Hostel), Pooja Sharma (Madhumash), Sagun Shahi (Dhuwani).

In script writing the nomination are Arpan Thapa (Maun), Baburam Ghimire (Hamri Cheli), Dinesh Neupane and Abinashbikram Shah (Madhumash), Hemraj BC (Hostel) and Pitambar Pandey (Dhuwani).

In action direction the nomination are : Dev Maharjan (Dhuwani), Himal KC (in War, Bouncer and Gambler), and Roshan Shrestha (Kali). In addition to these nominations, the nominations of music composition, editing, sound engineering, playback singing, background score, and choreography categories. The award is awarded in 20 different categories.

Parcha Fashion Show III at the Porchester Hall in London On January 24, 2014

The third Parcha Fashion Show will be taking place on Friday 24th January, 2014 at the Porchester Hall in London. The annual fashion show by the popular UK based Nepali event management company Parcha Productions began with an aim to give the young and upcoming designers a platform where they could gain maximum exposure. The Parcha team who have quite the eye for talent will be showcasing over a dozen hand-picked designers and gifted voices for the acoustic sets once the fashion show is complete. The list of designers feature familiar to new names and bring in a diversity from Nepali to non-Nepali fashion enthusiasts. Also confirmed for the live music is the very popular Shreya Rai and Garima Rai.

In order to secure a seat for the show interested folks will have to buy the tickets in advance as there will be no door sales. The tickets are currently going for £15 and they can be purchased online or through a simple call to the Parcha members. Continuing their tradition to support different social organisations, the Parcha Fashion Show will be supporting the Happy Home Project.

‘Soongava’ couldn’t make it to the Oscars competition

The movie selected by the Nepali selection committee to represent Nepal in the Academy Awards, Oscars, couldn't make it to the short-listing. The movie made on a lesbian love story, ‘Soongava’ was selected by a Nepali committee for the Oscars competition to compete in the Best Foreign Movie category.

   

The Oscars Awards organizer The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science has recently released the list of movies short-listed for the final competition. Nepali movie is  not in the list.

‘Soongava’ features Nisha Adhikari and Diya Maskey in the lead roles. The movie directed by Suwarna Thapa was selected from the pool of the movies released in the last year.

Other movies competing with ‘Soongava’ were ‘Badhshala’ and ‘Shirish Ko Phool’. There was a controversy in the selection of ‘Soongava’ and the nationality of the director, Suwarna. The movie is also planned to be released in the theaters in Kathmandu.

Binita Baral requests to get polio vaccine to children on polio vaccination day (video)

Nepal Government’s polio vaccination campaign is going on in 68 districts all over Nepal. The oral vaccine given to children 5-years-old and younger will help children from getting polio. Nepal is yet to eradicate the disease and it is closer to it’s target.

To help the government in polio eradication, actress Binita Baral has created a video to convey the importance of vaccination. She has asked everybody to take eligible kids to vaccine clinics.

Childhood immunization is one of the most cost effective tool to combat Polio. According to WHO six polio cases were reported in 2010. After that, no polio cases have been reported. We still need to create awareness on the importance of vaccination and be the first South-Eastern country to achieve the feat.

FIFA WORLD CUP TROPHY UNVEILED IN NEPAL!

For the first time in the history, FIFA World Cup Trophy has landed in Nepal today! The authentic cup of the World Cup tournament was unveiled in Nepal today at Dashrath stadium amongst 7,500+ lucky observers. Mr. Ram Baran Yadav, President of Nepal revealed the World Cup Trophy in presence of several officials and selected winners of Coca-Cola scheme attendees.

Speaking at the event at Dashrath stadium, Ram Baran Yadav said that this was that most precious moment after recent CA elections in the country. Yadav was the only person in Nepal who was allowed to physically touch the trophy. This is because only former World Cup-winning captains and heads of state are allowed to touch the trophy according to the FIFA rules.

The event followed by a photo session for VIPs, footballers, ANFA and National Sports Council officials. Team Nepal was also seen posing with the trophy.

The trophy was brought to Nepal from Bhutan today on a private FIFA’s jet plane. The plane landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 11:50 am and the Trophy was taken straight to the Dashrath stadium amidst a tight security in the valley. The trophy remained at stadium until 6:00 PM and is taken to at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza for a night before it is taken to India tomorrow.

Coca-Cola Company in partnership with FIFA and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) brought the most coveted trophy of football to Nepal. The global trophy tour by Coca-Cola kicked off with an official launch ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 12 September 2013 and will be taken around 90 countries before reaching the same Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

I have experienced sex – Mahima Silwal's Bold Statement

In an interview with ‘Karporate’ actress Mahima Silwal has expressed the bold statement, she has experienced sex. Such a statement is considered rare in a traditional Nepali society by an unmarried actress. Currently busy in the shooting of her upcoming movie ‘Jhamela’, Mahima thinks film sector is like social work.

 If she were not an actress, she would probably be a nurse. In her body parts, she like her eyes and lips.

Although she regularly receives proposals, she is yet start an affair. Although she doesn’t have any steady relationship, Mahima admits that she is a modern girl and has experienced sex. To explain the experience, she says that she had an affair with a guy she was supposed get married. After she started acting, the relationship broke.

Mahima debuted in the film industry in ‘Karbhahi’. After that, she did ‘April Fool’. But, both of the movie were flop movies. After that she is featured in a number of upcoming movie like ‘Warrant’, ‘Kamina’, ‘Sakash’, ‘Gigolo’, ‘Mission 420′, ‘Ek Saya Ek’ etc.

Karishma’s Daughter Kabita having a grand birthday celebration

The daughter of Karishma Manandhar, Kabita Manandhar, has come home to celebrate her birthday this year. Kabita’s plan to surprise her mother by arriving unannounced met with another surprise – the mom wasn’t at home. Karishma had a plan to go to Doha on the day the daughter arrived. Karishma had to take a tough decision on whether to please her fans or to please her daughter.

Upon her arrival in Nepal, Kabita’s birthday celebration started. She cut cakes and had fun with friends and family. Karishma arrived home on Friday morning. Before the formal celebration planned by Karishma started, Kabita had already cut four birthday cakes. In the following photo Kabita is seen cutting her fourth cake in this birthday:

Back from Qatar, Karishma met her daughter after a year-long gap. She wants to make the birthday an special event and she is planning of a theme for the birthday celebration.

Rekha is a very happy mother of four children

After finishing the social work tour form Jogbudha-1, Dadeldhura, Rekha Thapa expressed her happiness saying, “I am extremely happy today. My social work effort has been successful.”

She added, “Today’s meeting with the Raute brothers of Jogbudha VDC’s was a very good opportunity to hear about their hardships and struggle. I can never forget the love, respect and nearness the community had shown to me.”

Rekha Thapa has adopted four children and she says, “From today, I am the guardian of three daughters and a son. That has given me immense pleasure.” She thanked everybody for the love and support. She also thanked the Rekha Thapa Foundation members for the help and support for the social work.
