Nisha Adhikari to be featured in a couple of Bangali movies

Nepali actress Nisha Adhikari is going to be featured in a couple of Bengali movies. The movies titled ‘Good Evening Kathmandu’ and ‘Under the Same Sky’.

In a Facebook post, Nisha has told that it is a new exciting turn in her career and probably a milestone of the entire Nepali film industry.

Nisha has completed the shooting of her upcoming movie ‘Mukhauta’. Another upcoming movie ‘Bhimdutt’ also features Nisha.

A while ago, another Nepali actress and item dancer, Archana Dellala, had also signed to do a Bengali movie.

Actress Subrina Karki debuting as Hot and Sexy Gilr in "Jhelee" Nepali Movie 2014

Actress Subrina Karki is debuting in upcoming movie ‘Jhelee’. The movie is the third movie in a row of similar sounding names. When first release ‘Jhola’ and the second ‘Jholey’ were both successful in theater, the fate of the third similar sounding movie will be known on its release on March 28.

The film makers have told that Sabrina is featured in a hot role in the movie. The trailer of the movie shows that she has not only done hot scenes, she has also spoken dual-meaning dialogues.

With Sabrina, ‘Jhelee’ also features Anil Thapa and Deepa BC in leading role. The movie directed by Kamal Dahal is the presentation of Bhesman Shrestha. The thriller social drama movie is the presentation of Amarratna Movies.

The shooting of the upcoming movie of actress Rekha Thapa is going in Western Nepal. The shootign strated on Shivaratri and is currently going on in Piplati area of Mahendranagar. Rekha has tried to hide the identity of the new actor in the movie. She has been releasing teaser photos of the new actor trying to create a suspense and interest in the new actor. Ritu releasing on March 7, Censor grants U certificate

The censor board has granted an ‘U’ certificate to ‘Ritu’, the movie releasing on March 7, 2014 in theaters all over Nepal. The movie featuring Miss Nepal 2011, Malina Joshi, Reema Bishowkarma and Raj Ballav Koirala in leading role is directed by Manoj Adhikari. The movie mostly shot in Australia features some beautiful scenes in Australia and Nepal.

‘Ritu’ produced jointly by Shailu Acharya, Ashok Gautam, Suraj Pradhan and Apil Bista. The movie features the script of Sandeep Badal, music of Hemanata Rana and Suji Karmacharya, editing of Bharatmani Regmi, cinematography of Sushan Prajapati and the choreography of Bhimshen Gurung.

Priyanka Karki’s first movie releasing after many others (music video)

Actress Priyanka Karki‘s first movie as an actress is yet to release while many other movies featuring the actress have already been released. Priyanka’s first movie by release is ’3 Lovers’, but she had completed the shooting of ‘Mero Best Friend’ before any other movies.

After winning Miss Teen title in 2005 Priyanka went to the USA to study. She returned back to Nepal after the completion of her studies to make a career in Nepali film industry. The effort has paid off and Priyanka has managed to establish herself as a hot cake in the industry.

Attached below is a song from her upcoming movie ‘Mero Best Friend’. The movie scheduled to release on Baisakh 12 (April 25) features Resh Marahatta, Diwas Upreti and Priyanka in lead roles. The movie features the cinematography of Bidur Pandey and music of Rajan Raj Siwakoti. Another movie, ‘Kabaddi’ is also scheduled to release on the same day.

Kabaddi trailer released, sounds like a promising movie

The trailer of upcoming movie ‘Kabaddi’ was released in a formal program in Kathmandu on March 3. More than 3 minutes long trailer released during the event gives a preview of love, romance and comedy in the movie. In our previous post have mentioned the new released Kabaddi posters too.

 

The movie directed by Rambabu Gurung features Dayahang Rai, Rishma Gurung and Nischal Basnet in lead roles.  The movie scheduled to release on Baisakh 12 (April 25, 2014) will compete with another movie to release on the same day – ‘Mero Best Friend’.

Rekha Thapa movie Himmatwali starts in Mahendranagar

The shooting of an upcoming movie of Rekha Films, ‘Himmatwali’ has started in Mahendranagar on Shivaratri day. Rekha Thapa performed chasing stunts in horseback on the first day of shooting.

The movie is being directed by Shyam Bhattarai and is being cinematographed by Ramsharan Upreti. Rekha is also introducing a new actor in the movie, most probably the disabled climber Sudarshan Gautam.

The shooting of the movie started at Piplati of Mahendranagar. The movie expected to cost Rs. 5 million will feature a new lead actor. Like other Rekha Thapa movie, this is also an action movie and is female oriented.

The movie features music of Basanta Sapkota and Tanka Budhathoki. The movie is targeted to release in coming Dashain festival. It is Rekha’s ex-husband Chhabi Raj Ojha‘s tactic to release movies in Dashain for their success. The success of Rekha’s last movie ‘Kali‘ is attributed to the timing of the release during Dashain festival.

Parshuram, Sumina Ghimire’s next movie

Actress Sumina Ghimire has signed in upcoming movie ‘Parshuram’ by director NR Ghimire. Ghimire is considered one of the youngest director in Nepali film industry.

‘Parshuram’ will feature Sumina, Shyam Katuwal, Umesh Khadka, and Birendra Biru Yadav. The movie is expected to go on floor after a month. The film unit is currently in Lahan in search of proper location for the shooting of the movie.

An actor without hands in opposite to Rekha Thapa in Himmatwali

Actress Rekha Thapa has shared a photo of herself with a mystery new actor to be featured in her upcoming movie, ‘Himmatwali’. The photo posted with caption – "New looks, surprising n new actor" in her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’, hides the face of the actor. The team at xNepali has identified the mystery actor based on the little face that is seen and the dress he is wearing.

Based on the photo it is clear that the lead actor of Rekha’s upcoming movie is a disabled climber, Sudarshan Gautam. Sudarshan doesn’t have hands and he can perform stunts with his feet. He had recently made news by climbing Mt. Everest and being the first climber without hands. xNepali had written about Sudarsan Gautam 4 years ago.

Make up artist Sambha D Patil dies

One of the most popular make up artist, Sambha D Patil (Sambhu Chhetri) had died on February 22, 2014. Sambha was admitted to Bir Hospital after he had problem in his intestines. He died at 9:30 PM local time on Sunday.

Sambha debuted in Nepali movies in BS 2040 in ‘Basudev’. While shooting the movie, the mother of the makeup artist died and couldn’t work in the movie. Sambha got the responsibility of the makeup of the Nir Shah‘s debut movie as a director. Sambha’s debuted as a full makeup artist in ‘Kusume Rumal‘ and after that, he worked in more than 350 movies.

An Indian national, Patil had come to Nepal in the shooting of a Mithun movie ‘Mil Gai Manjil Mujhe’ as one of the crew members. After working in ‘Basudev’ he decided to stay in Nepal and didn’t go back to his birth place in Maharastra, India.

Shooting of gangster based Nepali movie, Naaike started

The shooting of upcoming movie ‘Naike’ has started in Pokhara. The movie to be made on a gangster story features actors Aryan Sigdel, Rem BK, Bodhraj Regmi, Surbina Karki and Sarika KC will be featured in main roles.

 

The shooting of the movie being directed by Netra Guurng started in a formal ceremony held at the Bindebasini temple. The movie made under Black Sando Production is produced jointly by Jagadish Khanal, Anand Chhetri, Narayan Khanal, Sangita Parajuli and Resha Gurung.

The shooting of the movie will be done in an around Pokhara and is expected to be completed in a month. The cinematographer of the movie is Arjun Tiwari and it will feature the action of Sanukumar Maharjan. The movie is expected to cost Rs. 5 million to make. (Source: xnepali.net)

Bhimdutta finally got the censor clearance

After an initial glitch, the Censor Board has finally awarded PG certificate to Nawal Khadka‘s movie ‘Bhimdutta’. The movie directed by Himgyap Lama features Nawal as a revolutionary leader, Bhimdutta Pant of Dadeldhura.

The biographical movie made on a historical context features Nawal Khadka, Nisha Adhikari, and Sumina Ghimire in leading roles. The film makers had organized a protest press meet when the Board took time in awarding the censor clearance certificate.

The Board had asked to remove 12 scenes in the movie before awarding the certificate. The board had asked to remove references to India, some dialogues and some scenes of violence.

Jheli to take advantage of the popularity of Jhola and Jholey ?

Three movies with similar names – ‘Jhola’, ‘Jholey’ and ‘Jheli’ were were ready for release at the same time.

Don’t you think the names are designed to confuse the viewers? We think so too !

‘Jhola’ was released on February 7, another movie – ‘Jholey’ is scheduled to release on February 21 and the release date of the third movie ‘Jheli’ will be announced right after the release of ‘Jholey’.

The makers of ‘Jholey’ tried to take advantage of the popularity of ‘Jhola’ by releasing a press statement telling viewers not to confuse ‘Jhola’ for ‘Jholey’. The truth – nobody was really confused until they told so! ‘Jhola’ is a great movie in itself and it didn’t need some copycat (taking ‘Jhola’ director’s word that the movie was conceived 7 years ago) to promote it.

But, if the media reports are to be believed, ‘Jholey’ is a decent movie and is expected to do well in theater. We hope, the comedy is a genuine comedy (at least, not like the press statement).

Now, ‘Jheli’ team has also told the media that it doesn't want viewers to get confused! The message is loud and clear – they want the viewers to get confused and watch it.

If the film makers had genuinely tried to differentiate the movies, they could have any other names. Even if they couldn’t name it differently, they could at least have written the letter ‘Jha’ in a different fashion!

Namrata Shrestha and Rap artist Lahure to be featured in Tandav

Actress Namrata Shrestha is going to be featured opposite to a popular rap artist, Lahure (Ashish Rana) in an upcoming movie ‘Tandav’. The movie to be directed by Murray Kerr, a British national running a visual effects company in Nepal. The movie was announced in a program held on February 19, 2014.

The movie is being produced by Mohan Dotel under the production company of ‘Badhshala’, Smashing Apple. In addition to Namrata and Ashish, Anup Baral, Beepin Karki, Alan Gurung and some foreign artists will also be featured in the movie.

Jholey VS Samrat on February 21, is Biraj Bhatt craze still there in Nepali viewers?

Nepali movie ‘Jholey’ was said to be the single release on February 21 but, in the last moment a Biraj Bhatt movie ‘Samrat’ is going to compete with the dark comedy movie. The news of the release ‘Samrat’ was confirmed on Tuesday.

‘Samrat’ is an action movie made in Bhojpuri and is also released in Nepali. With Biraj, the movie features Bhojpuri actress Ruby Singh. The movie is being distributed by Sunil Manandhar. The movie made under the banner of Shreeram Balaji Films is presented by Suraj Khadka. Being busy in Bhojpuri movies, Biraj has stopped doing any new Nepali movies. The success or failure of this movie will determine if Biraj is still popular among Nepali audience.

Another new release ‘Jholey’ had received positive reviews in a number of premier shows. The movie featuring Priyanka Karki and Dayahang Rai in lead roles is expected to do a good business based on the reviews of premier shows. But, reviews in such shows are considered a very poor metric in success or failure of movies.  

Censor Board couldn’t decide on Bhimdutta

The Censor Board has decided to do a detailed review of the movie before letting it screen in theater. The Board chief Umakant Parajuli has told that the involvement of the Army and Indian government in the killing of Bhimdutta has to be researched and verified before the movies is allowed to release.

The board has told that they also have found other issues to research and discuss. The board had also objected violence scenes in the movie. The movie is made on the life of a revolutionary leader of far west Nepal.

In the mean time the director and producers of the movie have posted protesting messages in Facebook. Nawal Khadka’s previous movie ‘Dashgaja’ was also rejected at first and had gone through an extensive scrutiny of the Censor Board.

Pappu to replace Chhabi in Rekha Thapa films?

In a report, the chief of Film Development Board (FDB) Pappu (Dharmendra Kumar Marbetia) is going to be the Executive Producer of Rekha Thapa‘s upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’. In her earlier movies including ‘Kali’, Chhabi Raj Ojha used be the executive producer.

Estimated to cost 45 lakh, ‘Himmatwali’ will have equal investment of Rekha and Pappu. The movie is being directed by Shyam Bhattarai and will introduce a new actor in leading role. The movie is expected to go on floor on Falgun 15.

When Rekha was lobbying for the FDB chief post, Rekha failed and Pappu became successful in snatching the post. Although Rekha’s initial response was negative, she became close to Pappu in following days. They were seen together in Shiva Ratri smoking marijuana and they were also seen together in a Dolkha visit.

Usha Poudel to debut in Bollywood movie, Sun Ladki

Nepali actress, Usha Poudel, is going to debut in a Bollywood movie ‘Sun Ladki’. The actress who started as a television actress in Nepal and was featured in Nepali movies like ‘Muna Madan’ was struggling in Mumbai for last few years.

The pre-production of ‘Sun Ladki’ has completed and is going to floor soon. In the movie, Usha’s role will not be the leading actress but next to the leading one. If the movie becomes successful, there is a high chance that Usha might establish herself as a Bollywood star. The rumor about Usha doing the Bollywood the movie started last year.

In her Mumbai stay, Usha had established herself in small screen by doing some well known serials. Usha was featured in high budget Hindi television serials like ‘Jaya Shanidev’, ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Bajaranga Bali’, and ‘Bishnu Puran’. She was also featured in serials ‘Chintu Chinki aur Ek Badhi Si Love Story’, ‘Adalat’, ‘Fair Files’, and ‘Tujsangh Preet Lagai Sajana’. Usha is known by her real name – Rukmini in Mumbai. While Usha is filmy name in Nepali film industry, Rukmini Kumari Poudel is the real name of the actress.

After debuting in ‘Muna Madha’, the Nepali movies featuring Usha Poudel include Palpalma, Badmas, Nepali Bir,  Baaji, Dhamaka, Mahan, Chor Sipahi, Rajya, Maya Nagara, Bharosha and others. Usha had gone to India in 2010 and was helped by Indian actor Rahul Roy in the initial days. There was a rumor of an affair of Usha with the actor at that time.

According to a report, before jumping into acting, Usha was a dancer in Show Palace Dance Bar in Durbar Marg.
