‘Chha Ekan Chha’ piracy, 22-years old arrested

The producers of ‘Chha Ekan Chha‘ organized a press meet to announce that a 22-year-old Sandip Magar was arrested by the police for recording the movie in theater and releasing it in YouTube.

In the press meet, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula and Nirmal Sharma felt satisfaction on the arrest of the pirate. The producers were worried about the overseas market that had already earned them 40 lakh in Rights.

Magar had recorded the movie in Kalanki Theater in mobile phone. He had uploaded it through a cyber café. The producers have also claimed 50 lakh in lost revenue.

The video was 50 minutes long and is removed from the online video hosting site.

The movie released on January 10 and had become the first movie Niramal could recover his investment. Although the review of the movie wasn’t that promising, the initial collection of the movie was record breaking.

Chha Ekan Chha Fever Grips Nepal!

Nepali film Chha Ekan Chha is doing so well that it’s apparently replacing Bollywood films in the cinemas! The film starring Deepak Raj Giri, Sitaram Kattel, Neeta Dhungana, Kedar Ghimire and more has been dubbed by viewers as the comedy film of the year!

The film apparently earned Nrs 7.8 million (78 Lakhs) in two days of it’s release. If this trend continues then the film is well on it’s way to becoming one of the biggest Nepali films. Since it’s release on Jan 10 – the film has already grossed over NRS 2 crores till date (do read the “2 Crore Club” article snapshot). Looks like Director DC is on his way to the very very very top.

Chha Ekan Chha distribution rights has already been sold in the USA and the UK!! The UK rights have been acquired by Manoranjan Ek Matra Entertainment.

Chha Ekan Chha the first movie of Nirmal Sharma, Gaida to recover investment

The comedy actor commonly known as Gaida after the character he does in ‘Tito Satya’, Nirmal Sharma is also a movie producer. Out of the six movies he has produced so far, only one movie, ‘Chha Ekan Chha‘ has resulted in profit. All his previous movies had flopped.

 

Last movie he produced was produced jointly with Sudhanshu Joshi – ‘Nepal’ in 2007. The movie also filmed in USA had a huge investment that couldn’t be recovered.

‘Angarakshyak‘ was another flop movie Nirmal produced. At the time the movie was produced, Rajesh Hamal‘s ‘Arjun‘ was a super hit movie. Nirmal and the team tried to copy Rajesh’s character in ‘Arjun’ and the promotion was also focused on making it similar to the hit movie. But, the movie failed miserably.

Other movies Nirmal made were ‘Jalan’, ‘Aamako Maya’ and ‘Jetho Kancho’. None of these movies could recover the investment for Nirmal.

After the success of ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ Nirmal has realized that, promotion is the biggest part in the success of a movie. Good presentation and good story are also required for the success of the movie. He says, the success of ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ can be attributed to a good team, new taste in movie, and the presentation.

Nirmal is also going to debut as a movie director in a Poojana Pradhan’s movie ‘Chocolate,’ in near future.

Chha Ekan Chha earned Rs. 7.8 million in two days

The makers of Nepali movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ have told that the movie running in 70 theaters all over Nepal has made a very good starting. According to Ujylo FM, the movie has earned Rs. 7.8 millions in two days of it’s release.

The movie featuring well known actors of small-screen comedy serials started with a very aggressive promotion in television and on road. The movie directed by Dinesh DC is written by Deepak Raj Giri. ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ is produced by popular comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’ team comprising of Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula and Nirmal Sharma (Gaida). This is the sixth movie of Nirmal Sharma, whose all previous movies had flopped.

Another movie released on Friday ‘Biteka Pal’ is also told to be gaining popularity. The film makers expect mouth publicity to pick the business up in coming days.

Good opening of Nepali Movie Chha Ekan Chha and Biteka Pal

Aggressive promotion of ’6 Ekan 6′ has paid off – causing houseful occupancy of the movie on it’s release day. The success however will depend on the mouth publicity. The initial response of the viewers are generally positive.

One of the producers, Deepa Shree Niraula expressed her happiness on the success of the movie. The turnover of the viewers to theater is told to be like that of ‘Kali‘. Dinesh DC‘s direction, ’6 Ekan 6′ features six comedy actors – Deepak Raj Giri, Sitaram kattel (Dhurmus), Kedar Ghimire (Magne Budha), Shiva Hari Poudel (Mukhan Hannu Jasto), Jitu Nepal (Mundre), Sandeep Chhetri and actress Neeta Dhungana in leading roles.

‘Biteka Pal’ producer Rajesh Ghatani also expressed his satisfaction on the viewers on the first day of screening. Rajesh claimed that the viewers will increase as the mouth publicity effect takes over. He expects the movie to take over after Sunday. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ features Keki Adhikari, Baboo Bogati and Abinash Ghising in lead roles.

The opening of two other movies, ‘Yoddha’ and ‘Parai’ were not that impressive. According to a report two shows of ‘Parai’ at Big Movies and F Cube were canceled because of the lack of viewers.

This was a tough opening of the movies released this week because of the competition among four movies.

Big films testing their luck this Friday

After a couple of weeks without any new releases, Nepali film makers are releasing four new movies on January 10. At least, three out of the four movies are considered big names in the Nepali movie industry.

 

The movie ‘Biteka Pal’ by noted director of successful movies like ‘Bato Muniko Phool’ and ‘Sayaad’, Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ is known to make good movies. Although his last movie ‘Facebook’ didn’t do well, the current release has created a buzz before the release. In addition to a good director, the movie also features new and talented actors like Keki Adhikari and Baboo Bogati in leading roles. Keki Adhikari was highly appreciated by the audience during the premier show of the movie on the last week of 2013. The songs of the movie are also liked by the public.

Another movie ’6 Ekan 6′ features well known comedy actors of television serials. The movie is also promoted heavily in television and on street. The viewers have high hopes from the comedy movie. The movie features Neeta Dhungana, Deepak Raj Giri, Shiva Hari Poudel, Kedar Ghimire, Sitaram Kattel, Jitu Nepal and Sanjeev Chhetri in main roles.  The actors are the leading actors of the popular comedy serials ‘Tito Satya’, ‘Jire Khursani’ and ‘Meri Bassai’. If the director Dinesh DC has done a good job, the movie should be a collection of cream talents in Nepali comedy artists.

The movie of late director Shiva Regmi, ‘Parai’ is also expected to attract viewers because of the sentiment of the death of the director. The movie features Gobinda Shahi, Niraj Baral, Nandita KC and Garima Pant in main roles. The director is known to make good movie and the artists are also well known artists, liked by viewers.

Uday Subba’s ‘Yoddha’ features Rajesh Hamal, Subash Meche, Jharana Thapa, Sunil Thapa, Dinesh Sharma etc. in main roles. The movie is targeted to single screen audience. There are some Nepali movie viewers who consider this movie only because of the star power of Rajesh Hamal and Jharana Thapa.

All four movies have good potential to be successful. But, the viewers of Nepali movies are limited and they also have to be divided into four movies. So, there is a high chance that none of the movies become as successful as expected.

Based on the initial response in media, we believe, at least three of them would have done good business if they were solo releases. We would need to wait for a couple of days before the fate of the movies are determined.

Chha Ekan Chha team distribute jackets to street children (Video)

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ movie team are currently promoting the movie by doing different promotional activities. Recently the team was seen distributing jackets to street children. Considering the hardship of the street children during the cold days, the movie team distributed jackets with the films’ name written on them.

 

The artists present during the distribution of jackets include Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Sitaram Kattel (Dhrumus), Nirmal Sharma (Gaida) and Kabita Sharma.

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ is going to release in theater on January 10, 2013. The movie features six comedians in main roles. The movie directed by Dinesh DC features most of the comedy actors of television in different roles.

Chha Ekan Chha- New Nepali Movie to release on 10th January, 2014

The ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ film unit organized a press meet at Union House, Anamnagar, Kathmandu to announce the release date of the movie. The movie is scheduled to release on Poush 26 (January 10, 2013).

Talking about he movie, the producer and the writer of the movie, Deepak Raj Giri told that the movie is a totally entertainment movie. He promised, “The movie will bind the viewers in seat for 2:15 hours.

The co-producer and assistant director Deepa Shree Niraula stated that the movie is the result of the investment of “all the name and credit” they have gained so far in the entertainment industry. Actor and co-producer Nirmal Sharma told that the movie is the result of the experience he has gained by producing half-a-dozen flop films. Although he doesn’t expect the movie to be super-hit, he expect it to do a satisfactory business.

There are six leading actors and one lead actress – Neeta Dhungana, in ‘Chha Ekan Chha’. Actor Shiva Hari Poudel (Mukhama Hannu Jasto)expressed his satisfaction to do a leading actor role at the age of 47. Another actor Sandip Chhetri also expressed his satisfaction on his role as a leading actor. Other leading actors include Jitu Nepal (Mundre), Kedar Ghimire (Magne Budho), Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Deepak Raj Giri. Neeta claimed that the movie has become the best movie she has done so far.

The movie directed by Dinesh DC features the script of Jagadishowr Thapa and music of Sambhujit Baskota. The title song of the movie is recorded on the voice of Hari Bansha Acharya, Kiran KC and the director Dinesh DC.

Hari Bansha Acharya sang a song in ‘Chha Ekan Chha’

The ‘Ha’ of MaHa, Hari Bansha Acharya had sung a song in an upcoming movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha’. The comedy movie produced by Deepak Raj Giri features popular comedy actors in leading roles. The song titled ‘Mero Maya Timilai’ also features the voice of another comedy actor, Kiran KC.

For Hari Bansha, it wasn’t easy singing after a long gap. In the past, he had given voice to a number of songs and had also released a music album. The recording was done on the second week of November.

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ is a production of Deepak Raj Giri and is being directed by Dinesh DC. The movie features six popular comedy actors in leading roles and will be release in January.
