The national cricket team preparing for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers are playing against top division clubs in their nine-day Sri Lanka tour that begins from December 18.
Nepal are playing against Colmbo Colts, Moors Sports Club, Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club and Bloomfield Sports Club. All the teams are the Premier clubs of Sri Lanka.Nepal will begin their four-match preparation tour with a match against Colombo Colts on December 19 and the next day they will play Moors Cricket Club.
After three days, they meet Sri Lanka Ports Authority and on December 26 the tour ends with a match against Bloomfield Sports Club. National team coach Pubudu Dassanayake said the tour will be focused on shaping the team in every aspect.
"These are the best teams that we could get and we can try out all our plans playing against them. I am sure the matches are going to be really tough for us because we are going to encounter some of the brilliant players from Sri Lanka," Dassanayake told cricketingnepal.com.
Nepal will directly leave for New Zealand from Sri Lanka for the ICC World Cup Qualifiers beginning from January 13. Nepal will also play few practice matches in New Zealand as they are going to be in the tournament venue 10 days prior to the Qualifiers which sends two teams in 2015 World Cup.
